Guided Imagery, or Visualization as it is sometimes called, is very similar to hypnosis, but without the posthypnotic suggestions, or the age regression that one might do in hypnosis to solve a problem. Guided imagery or visualization might be used for relaxation, to help with stress, or for a specific anxiety-driven problem. There are numerous books and tapes available on this topic, as well, and many tapes offer guided imagery scripts.
This might also be used for a quick induction in a session when there isn’t time for a full-on hypnosis session
